4-H & FFA Members have Success at the 149th Clearfield County Fair


The Clearfield County Fair officially kicked off on Monday, August 3rd; however, many festivities took place a few days prior including the 2009 4-H Dairy Round-Up. The Fair concluded on Saturday, August 8th with our 26th Annual Clearfield County 4-H & FFA Junior Livestock & Poultry Sale. We had numerous highlights from this year’s Fair. Congratulations to this year’s Junior Livestock Sale Market Grand Champion Animals:

The 2nd Annual Master Showman Contest, which was held on Friday, August 7th, was another success event this year! The Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council planned and organized the event that welcomed 17 participants in 3 separate divisions. All three division winners won a belt buckle and all participants received a complimentary t-shirt. This year’s winners were Dani Maines (pictured above right) of the Clearfield FFA Chapter – Last Call Division Winner, Katie McAndrew (pictured above left) of the Town & Country 4-H Horse and Pony Club - Senior Division Winner, and Katelyn Matthews (pictured above center) of the Rocky Ridge 4-H Club - Junior Division Winner. Other participants included: Austin Fairman, Jordan Fairman, Justine Flanagan, Jesse Freyer, Jack Garred, Pedar Garred, Reuben Hicks, Chelsey Hughes, Melinda Hutchins, Ben Kline, Nick Kovalick, Fran McAninch, Morgan Turner, & Sydney Turner.
